What is a Coach
A business coach is just like a sporting coach. A sporting coach pushes an athlete to achieve optimum performance, provides support when they are exhausted and teaches the athlete to execute plays that their competition does not anticipate.
A sporting coach will make you run more laps than you feel like. A sporting coach will tell it like it is. And a sporting coach will listen.
The role of the business coach is to coach business owners to improve their business through guidance, support and encouragement. They educate the owners of small and medium sized businesses with worlds best practice sales, marketing, management, team building and so much more. Just like a sporting coach, your business coach will make you focus on the game.
As an ActionCOACH I have an enormous amount of intellectual property I can draw on as well as personal support from the 1000 coaches world wide. There isn't a solution to any problem we can't come up with. My role as your coach is to make sure you have the very best information at your fingertips. This gives you the confidence to make smart decisions and to excel in business. To be the winner you always knew you could be.
I will become your marketing manager, your sales director, your training co-ordinator; your confidant, your mentor. I will help you make your dreams come true ...
Amongst all that you can expect me to assist you with:
a) Visioning (identifying your dream)
b) Planning (developing a road map to assist you in realising your dream)
c) Accountability (management is not sexy, but it’s the doing – the grunt work which transforms it from a dream into a reality).
d) Facilitating (moving you through blocks)
e) Inspiring and motivating you
f) Educating (helping to reduce overwhelm by assisting you to select key education materials)
g) Being an unreasonable friend (assisting you to objectively look at where you are tripping yourself up)
As part of the education process I often recommend books to my clients - and whilst I will never get through the enormous amount of brilliant literature out there - there are a few absolute stand outs that I constantly recommend.
My favourite 5 business books
- The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People - By Steve Covey
- The E-Myth Revisited - By Michael E Gerber
- Little Red Book of Selling - By Jeffrey Gitomer
- Action Selling - Duane Sparks
- ABC's of Winning Teams - By Blain Singer
- Billionaire in Training - By Brad Sugars
- Instant Cashflow - By Brad Sugars
- The one minute manager meets the monkey - Ken Blanchard
- Who moved my cheese - Dr Spencer Johnson
- The Secret (and the many books that have since been written by the contributers to The Secret)
Ok, sorry. That's 10 - not 5. It's hard to stop because I'm already thinking of the books I've missed out. But if you were to read the above books, and really take on the messages they are conveying I know you would THANK me a million times - as they are brilliant and life changing. Of course, if you've already read those 10 books you'll have to contact me for my next favourite for the ADVANCED SOUL, ha, ha - the thing I have learnt is that the process of TRANSFORMATION never stops. So, you may as well enjoy the ride!!
I hope all of this helps you understand the role of the coach. It's powerful. You can have whatever you want! Ring me and we'll get started immediately.
