TAKING ACTION THROUGH COACHING
“There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less
than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.”
John F Kennedy
Planned action
Taking action in how you plan your business, your career, even your personal life is something that many of us many of us don’t actively do. Yes, we take action but often it’s reactive and it doesn’t always get the results we want. John Kennedy’s emphasis on a “program of action” underlies a key point – it takes planning and preparation to make sure those actions work for you.
As a business coach that’s where I can help you, your business, and or your teams to set a clear path for action - one that’s planned, with agreed key goals and milestones, to deliver great results.
Working in partnership
I work in partnership with clients, so once the plan’s set we work together to get where we want to go. That could be as simple as improving business skills in a key area, to business growth and building bottom line profitability. My commitment as a coach is to make sure you get results you’re after.
Coaching style
Having been a business coach for over three years, and many years leading teams in business prior to that, I have developed a unique coaching style that is:
My clients range from corporate businesses to design companies, manufacturers and service industries, to retail outlets, landscapers, photographers, car dealers, trades, manufacturing and engineering as well as a range of other service industries. Here’s what some of them say about my coaching style:
“Denise has provided us with a wealth of knowledge, systems, strategies and support and by getting us focused on the areas of our business that count the most, we are now turning things around and have better control and cashflow in our business. We are now heading in the direction we want to be with the encouragement and support of Denise.”
Colin and Debbie Murray – Local foods
“Denise’s personal style helped me to cope with staffing issues as well as management reporting styles now required in the role. Her help in making me grow into this new role and dealing with personality issues within the business has been invaluable. The stress of dealing with all this was reduced by having an outsider with experience be able to make me see the "WOOD FOR THE TREES"
Nola Walkinshaw – Charter Financial
“I am feeling more motivated and enjoying the work and my role in the business again. The coaching has prompted me to get on with the things that I know that I should be doing but have been procrastinating about. The coaching has also given me some new tools to use and systems to follow.”
Andy Tunnicliffe – AG Industrial Ltd
Your Coach
As your business coach, my job is to take an independent view of your business/your people, apply my extensive business knowledge and experience and develop a plan of action that delivers results.
To do that well my skills include being:
In a nutshell I focus on what’s important to get the best out of you/and your teams. For your business the outcome may mean a more focused business, real growth or a sticky issue solved.
Some background
Prior to coaching I worked in senior management positions for a number of
A common theme across all these roles has been a key requirement to coach – team members, business partners and colleagues.
Concurrently, while working in the above businesses I also owned a small retail business called WaxWorx et all. I had a brilliant time learning about all business at this end of the scale – so much so that I decided to bring all my skills and abilities together and become a business coach.
