Business Coaching can be broken down into three distinct areas.

1.        Transactional:
This is where the business coach works with the client to get clarity on the business vision and goals and then helps develop a plan to work towards the achievement of those goals.  It includes measuring and testing everything of importance in the business from marketing through delivery and cash collection.  As an ActionCOACH Business Coach, I bring with me literally hundreds of strategies that I and my colleagues around the globe are using with other clients to improve the bottom line of our clients’ businesses. 

2.       Transformational:
This is about coaching the business owner to be the person they need to be to run the sort of business they dream about running, The leader they need to be to deserve the team that can run that business for them.  Many fear letting go and losing control.  The Action system will show them how to delegate while still feeling in control.   Others are simply poor communicators.  As their coach I will take them through the steps to communicate effectively and watch them grow in confidence as the process evolves.

3.       Accountability.

Business Owners are no different from most people.   Without someone to hold them accountable they will procrastinate, delay, avoid doing what needs to be done, work on the wrong priorities, get distracted into less productive work.  All the things they criticize employees for.  The Business Coach assumes the role of the bosses boss.  The person who will hold them to account to do what they said they were going to do.  I meet my clients each week, review progress against targets set the previous week and agree the priorities to get done in the coming week.  I constantly remind my clients of their progress, and if that progress is not what it could be, I remind them of the importance of the goal they set themselves in the first place.

A business coach is just like a sporting coach. A sporting coach pushes an athlete to achieve optimum performance, provides support when they are exhausted and teaches the athlete to execute plays that their competition does not anticipate.

A sporting coach will make you run more laps than you feel like. A sporting coach will tell it like it is. And a sporting coach will listen.

The role of the business coach is to coach business owners to improve their business through guidance, support and encouragement. They help the owners of small and medium sized businesses with their sales, marketing, management, team building and so much more.
