Hello Kathie! I have been wanting to talk about my experience with my business coach, Kathie Ittel, with whom I worked all last year and am moving forward into this year, and who has been amazing in helping me get my feet back under me in a tough time. When I met Kathie, honestly, I have to tell you I felt desperate about my business. It's hard to admit this so publicly, but I feel that if anyone reading this has ever had that sinking feeling of, "How am I going to make payroll," and my words can offer support or advice for you in some way that will get you onto more even footing, I have to swallow my pride and tell you my story. Although I have been in business for 25 years now and have loved every one of them, it has certainly had its ups and downs. But somehow last year I found myself in a spiral that seemed to be picking up momentum, and the spiral was not going upward. I was not getting enough inquiries, and business was at a financial breaking point. The stress level was almost unbearable. I was looking for Plans B through Q, and I really didn't want to give up. I still loved my business and wanted it to go on; I just didn't know what to do or where to turn. Luckily, a friend suggested I call Kathie and just talk to her, which I did. Kathie described the work she does as an ActionCoach, told me about her own past business experience, and gave me a video to take home that described her work and showed a lot of happy clients of this system. Though it was all very convincing, I decided that, after having done a zillion seminars and workshops on business, I "already knew all this stuff" and was just going to soldier on alone. I decided I "could not afford her." Four months later, I found myself in an even deeper hole, with even more stress and fewer options open to me. I called Kathie again and asked if it was too late to hire her. She was very gracious and said, no, of course not. I used borrowed money to pay her those first months. Though it felt risky, I was really at the bottom of my hopefulness. If there's a will, there's a way, so they say. I have been so grateful that I did take that risk with Kathie. My business, though still not completely out of the woods, feels much more stable and viable, and I give so much credit to Kathie for standing by my side through this challenging time, inspiring me to keep creative and keep going. Her steady guidance and tell-it-like-it-is style have helped me to create a more dependable stream of leads and conversions (this means potential clients contacting me and my being able to "convert" them into customers), which leads to income, as well as recognizing how to better use my time, build better relationships with staff and handle many difficulties that in the past have stymied me. Kathie has brought her own considerable experience as a business woman, her love of business, her training as a coach and her inherent compassionate heart to her work with me. The feeling of having a wise ally who believes in me and is there ongoingly and patiently standing for my success has made being in business a lot more fun and a lot less like a bad and expensive hobby. Weekly meetings, goal setting, 90-day planning sessions all keep me better focused and better able to put into practice the tenets of business success. I can't tell you what it has meant to have Kathie as my confidante, my guide, my support system when I fell down or fell apart, my teacher, and my sidekick. I feel as if she gets almost as much satisfaction from seeing me succeed as I do taking the actions that lead to success. It is an incredible relationship with an incredible woman. Best of all, it is working. Business is improving incrementally and dramatically. My attitude and the way I think about business has been altered by my relationship with my fantastic coach.
