Who We Are
We often get asked how we started this – here's the scoop:
The ORIGINAL Tuesdays was started by Ron Dobransky and Angie Segal in partnership with Clyde’s Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville, MD. Over the last two plus years they have met with amazing success. Just check out the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/originaltuesdays
I attended the ActionCOACH Regional Conference in January of 2011. Angie Segal presented this networking concept and I just knew we had to get this going in Grande Prairie, when I returned from conference Teresa and I started looking for a venue finally we met with success in the new owners of the Acropolis Restaurant.
We liked this concept as it hits all the points we wished existed in a networking event and here is what we wanted;
- Same day and time every month.
- Same place so we always know where it is.
- FREE – why am I paying someone else to go into a public place?
- Open to everyone – you never know who you will meet.
- Just about networking – no agenda, no format, no infomercials, only open format networking where people meet, connect, and hopefully do some business.
- Badges with first names only so there is no profiling, just conversations.
- What else do you have to do on a Tuesday after work?
We have partnered up with the new owners of Acropolis Restaurant and are looking forward to bringing you a productive and FUN networking event! One that you will come to each and every month.
What Do We Get Out of Doing This?
Nothing and everything…….
Our business is not networking; we are not trying to make our living hosting a networking event. Our businesses, however, are helping people to grow and be successful in their businesses. Teresa is the CEO for ActionCOACH Grande Prairie and also owns and operates Synergy Workforce Developments. Peter helps businesses grow through strategic planning and implementation as an as the Owner and Certified Business Coach of ActionCOACH Business Coach Grande Prairie. Everything we do is designed to help you grow and the Tuesday events are no exception….
If you are successful, and want to be even more so we would love to help you do that. Your business and your referrals are always welcome and appreciated. Here is our link to our websites.
We have just a couple of “rules”
- The event is open to everyone. You're welcome whether you are a salesperson or owner, run a business large or small. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, tall or short, male or female.
- Please give us your business card when you check in at registration. Please don’t give us a hard time – we don’t share your information. We really need your card. We keep track of who attends and how often they are there. We will add you to our invite lists and personal email databases. WE DO NOT provide your information to others and never sell/share our attendee's list.
- First names only on your name badge – no company name or corporate badges. We have now proven our theory that people profile at networking event. We want to encourage everyone to just speak to each other. Please do not get upset when we ask you to remove your company name badge.
- The Success of this event is the result of people "Playing It Forward". You may have see/heard of the movie "Pay It Forward". If you like what you've seen and experienced here…….please be sure to tell your friends and colleagues and invite them as well. In other words….."Play It Forward".
- No literature or promotional materials on tables. We have no problem with you handing materials to people you speak with, but please don't leave on tables or on the bar.
Suggestions
- Please Respect Everyone & Don't Blow Someone Totally Off. You never know who the person you are talking to knows. They don’t have to be a good prospect to be a good connection. Their friend, neighbor or family member could be the person you would really love to do business with and you want to make sure you don't miss that opportunity. That doesn't mean you need to spend 30 minutes speaking with someone you don't wish to know better. Hone your networking skills to meet and be gracious to as many people as possible.
- You should purchase at least a drink at the bar. The venue is generous enough not to charge for the space. You should be courteous enough to give them some business.
- Please be generous to your hardworking Bartenders, Servers and Valets. They are working hard to make sure you have a good evening. Show them your appreciation.
Complete the information below and we will add you to our invite lists and personal email databases. WE DO NOT provide your information to others and never sell/share our attendee's list.
