He would get regular financial statements from his assistant, look at the bottom line and then, file them away. Nobody had taught him how to read the story of numbers and how that impacted the direction of the business. That led me to the resolution that every client I coach will learn to interpret their financials and become an expert in numbers so they can make smart business decisions, evaluate opportunities and improve profitability. 7. Become the leader you were meant to be
I was listening to “21 Laws of Leadership,” by Dr. Maxwell. During one of his seminars an attendee asked him “Are leaders born?” Dr Maxwell smiled at him and answered “I don’t know of any other way they came!” The point he stresses is that leadership skills can be developed by anybody if they practice the leadership laws. You’re the leader of your team and the success of your business depends on having the right people in the right positions. You’ll learn how to hire the right people, train and retain good employees so you have a team that that pulls together instead of a staff that pulls in opposite directions.
8. Don’t Let The Business Run You… Run the business
What was the main reason you went into business? It may have been financial freedom, time to do what you enjoy or the satisfaction of living your dream. How are you doing on your personal goals? 9. Get your time back
There is a chapter in Steven Covey’s book “First Things First” titled “How many People on their deathbed Wish they’d Spent More time at the office?’ Get’s you thinking, doesn’t it? You can’t do everything yourself. I can tell you from personal experience. I tried being superwoman but failed miserably.
You will learn how to focus on working in the zone. Learn how to prioritize your work day, focus on the important things in the business, and utilize your strengths. DELEGATE without fear! You’ll have more time to do the things you enjoy most. Nobody understands the importance of time better than a mother with two little kids.
