Brad Sugars - Our Founder
Brad Sugars may have come from humble beginnings, but he has built a life and a business that many would cite as the very definition of success.
Sugars, a self-made multi-millionaire, is the founder of the global business coaching franchise ActionCOACH®, an international business speaker, author, and entrepreneur. One of Brad's primary adages is “You have to learn before you earn.” The cause of education is close to his heart, and he created the Foundation as a way to give back.
According to Sugars, one of our most paramount responsibilities as entrepreneurs is to mentor and prepare the next generation of leaders. ActionCOACH Foundation is designed to do just that. Young adults who work with our nonprofit will gain access to a toolkit that will mold them for years to come. We could not be more proud to be facilitators of creating future leaders.
Together, we can change the lives of future entrepreneurs and guide them on the road to success early.
Doug Winnie - Chairman of the Board
After selling two of his self-built, multi-million dollar businesses Doug began to work as an ActionCOACH® Business Coach in 2009. While teaching from his experience has great value, the greatest value he has provided is the use of the ActionCOACH systems to cause his clients to have massive success. Doug has received over 30 awards for himself and for his clients all based on the results he has obtained.
Doug is very passionate about helping the small business owner become more successful. Doug’s #1 business belief is that “no one should have to live a life of struggle like my parents did. If they own a business where the market exists, they only need to learn how to work on their business instead of in their business. The limitations of youth, including poverty, are no match to the education available and opportunity to be successful in a world economy.”
Mr. Winnie has reached the Million Dollar Coach Level, inducted in to the ActionCOACH Hall of Fame, and has been selected to be the Chairman of the ActionCOACH Foundation, that selection to be the Chairman of the Foundation is based on both his experience as an entrepreneur and more because of his passion to help young adults become entrepreneurs, just like himself.
Karen Callahan -Program Coordinator
Karen Callahan joined the ActionCOACH Foundation team in early November. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Foundation that will help propel fundraising and program execution forward. Contact Karencallahan@actioncoach.com.
Karen has over two decades of experience in sales, marketing and events with an international trade association for retail environments professionals. Prior to serving as Director of Membership, Marketing and Programs & Events for Shop!, she produced numerous national events for various organizations, including the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the Beauty Show, the Southeastern U.S. Foodservice Expo and seven different events for the National Retail Federation.
In addition, since 2014 until this year, Karen had operated an Ayurvedic medicine business part-time out of a yoga studio in Pasadena. From her office there, she offered diet and lifestyle counseling, eastern Indian body treatments and herbal remedies to hundreds of patients and clients.
Karen combines decades of helping non-profits and foundations grow with an understanding of the mechanics and challenges of operating a small business. As the first paid employee of ActionCOACH Foundation, she will use her experience and skills to help shape and grow the Foundation.
She is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a double major in Communications and Theatre Arts and a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, having completed three years of education and a year-long internship with the California College of Ayurveda in Nevada City, California.
Karen and her husband relocated to Las Vegas on March 17 in the middle of the pandemic. She and her husband love their new home and community in Summerlin. In addition to practicing Ayurveda, Karen enjoys hiking, swimming, weightlifting, walking, meditating, music and cleaning closets.
